Connect LinkedIn

Your professional graph, your DMs, and your posts.

LinkedIn is the backbone connection: your professional graph, your DMs, and (for watched groups) posts.

What you get

  • Connections: your full connection list, kept in sync as you add people. For each person you get their profile, work and education history, and the date you connected, so all of it is searchable in Goodword.

  • Messages (DMs): conversations on LinkedIn become part of each relationship's history, and an unanswered DM from someone who matters becomes a reminder. Optional, with an adjustable import window.

  • Posts: for any group with post watching on, this is where the posts come from (Posts tab + Friday digest).

What Goodword does with it

Your connections become the backbone of your relationship graph, each one a searchable profile with real history. Your DMs count as interactions, so Goodword can tell which relationships are actually active, and an unanswered message from someone who matters comes back as a reminder.

How to connect

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations and click Connect on LinkedIn.

  2. Sign in when prompted. The connection runs through a trusted infrastructure partner with careful rate limits, and Goodword never stores your LinkedIn password.

  3. Choose whether to include Messages, and how far back to import them.

Your connections import right away (Goodword shows progress while it enriches everyone), and DMs follow.

Prefer not to connect directly?

Upload LinkedIn's own data export instead. Full guide: How to upload your LinkedIn data. You get your connections without a live link (no DM sync or post watching on this path).

Troubleshooting

  • Still can't connect, or stuck on the LinkedIn sign-in? You don't have to connect directly — you can upload your LinkedIn data export instead and still get all your connections into Goodword. Follow How to upload your LinkedIn data. (This path brings in your connections, but not live DM sync or post-watching.)

  • A new connection isn't showing yet: new connections sync continuously but can take a few hours to display.

  • Connection shows "reconnect": LinkedIn sessions occasionally need re-auth. Click Reconnect and sign in again.

  • Want older DMs? Open Manage on the LinkedIn card and widen the Messages window (1y / 3y / 5y / all time). Windows widen, they don't narrow.
